Percy LeBaron Spencer
Born in Howland, Maine in July 1894, Percy Spencer was an american engineer and inventor. His most famous invention was the Microwave Oven. Before he joined the US NAVY he learned wireless telegraphy. Using a magnetron he realized that a chocolate bar in his pocket had melted. He proceeded to test his observations on popcorn which helped him come to the conclusion that micro waves could help. By 1947 a commercial microwave oven was being sold.
James clerk maxwell
James Maxwell was a Scottish mathematical physicist born in June 1831. He's most famous for connecting previously unrelated theories to form the electromagnetic theory. He created a consistent theory that lined up with findings about electricity, magnetism and optics. Maxwell was the scientist who discovered that all EM waves travel at the same speed as light. He is also renowned for presenting the first color photograph in 1861.
